P3D & Iain Mac – Veteran DJs and Hosts of the Wednesday Night Takeover
P3D and Iain Mac, the dynamic duo behind the Wednesday Night Takeover show, have been DJing together for over a decade. They’ve hosted shows across multiple radio stations, including Danger FM (London), Groove City Radio (Glasgow), and the legendary Sunrise FM – London’s original pirate radio station.
With over 30 years of combined experience, P3D and Iain Mac share a passion for music and an eclectic taste spanning multiple genres, including Oldskool Hardcore, Jungle, Drum & Bass, House, Hip Hop, UK Garage, Hard House, Trance, and Club Classics.
Both avid vinyl collectors, they started DJing on belt-drive vinyl turntables in their teens, honing their skills in bedrooms and frustrating parents and neighbors with endless mixes and experimental scratching. By their late teens, they upgraded to Technics 1210 turntables, landing gigs, DJ competitions, and residencies in bars and clubs across Glasgow, Stirling, and Edinburgh, gradually building their reputation in the local and national DJ scene.
P3D – From MC to DJ
P3D began his journey as an MC in the mid-1990s at the legendary Dance Ovation Raves in the Glasgow area under the name MC Dynamic. He quickly transitioned to DJing, showcasing his skills alongside established local DJs and gaining recognition for his diverse and energetic sets.
Iain Mac – Hard Dance Specialist
Iain Mac broke into the scene at the HardDance Takeover nights, quickly becoming a crowd favorite and securing a residency in Glasgow’s Hard Dance scene. He performed in top venues such as Club 69, The Tunnel, and the Courtyard Bar, supporting major DJs including Hixxy, Zatox, Alpha Twins, and Joe Deacon.
Influences and Inspirations
Both DJs drew inspiration from legendary tape packs and DJs, including Scott Brown, Marc Smith, David Forbes, Ruffneck, Dye Witness, Aphrodite, Mickey Finn, DJ Hype, Kenny Ken, LTJ Bukem, Jumping Jack Frost, and Ray Keith. These influences helped shape their versatile, genre-spanning style.
Residencies, Events, and Promotions
Over the years, P3D and Iain Mac have held residencies in local bars and clubs, as well as guest slots at some of Glasgow’s biggest clubs. They successfully organized, marketed, and promoted their own club night, the HardDance Takeover, which featured collaborations with top DJs and live acts. Notably, their Evolution Night combined Scottish Hip Hop, House, and Techno, attracting over 200 partygoers to Loch Lomond.
Mobile DJ Services
Over 10 years ago, they launched a mobile DJ company, performing at corporate events, birthdays, engagements, retirements, christenings, and weddings. Their professionalism, versatility, and energetic sets earned glowing reviews from clients and venues, creating a large network of DJs and loyal customers.
Current Projects
Today, P3D and Iain Mac continue to host weekly shows on Sunrise FM and a monthly slot on Groove City Radio. They also guest at Houselife events, run mobile parties, and remain passionate vinyl collectors, keeping the spirit of authentic DJing alive.
