P3D and Iain Mac, Hosts of the Wednesday Night Takeover show. have been DJing together for over a decade and have hosted shows on a number of different stations over the years including: Danger FM (London), Groove City Radio (Glasgow) and of course London’s Original Pirate Station Sunrise FM.
With over 30 years of experience and a love and passion for music between them they share an eclectic and extensive taste in music mixing a multitude of genres including Oldskool Hardcore, Jungle & Drum n Bass, House, Hip Hop, U.K Garage, Hard House, Trance and Club Classics.
Both avid vinyl collectors from a young age they separately honed their talents in the bedroom using belt drive vinyl turntables and driving their parents and neighbours potty with endless poor mixes and ropey scratching. After a number of years and moving on to Technics 1210s in their late teens their equipment and talent improved landing them gigs and DJ competitions in Bars and Clubs rapidly building a network within the local scene and on to Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh.
P3D’s first break into the scene came as an M.C in the mid 90s at the legendary Dance Ovation Raves in the greater Glasgow area under his M.C Dynamic guise, he latterly gained the opportunity to D.J & showcase his talents along side the local DJs who ran the events.
Iain Mac got his first break into scene at the afore mentioned “HardDance Takeover” nights where he quickly became a crowd favourite and became a resident DJ at the events which led to a lengthy run in Glasgow’s Hard Dance scene. He played support sets in top venues: Club 69, The Tunnel & the Courtyard Bar supporting DJs like Hixxy, Zatox, Alpha Twins & Joe Deacon to name a few.
Biggest influences growing up came from listening to Rezerection & Helter Skelter tape packs featuring D.Js like Scott Brown, Marc Smith, David Forbes, Ruffneck, Dye Witness & Drum n Bass pioneers like Aphrodite, Mickey Finn, D.J Hype, Kenny Ken, LTJ Bukem, Jumping Jack Frost & Ray Keith to name but a few.
Between them they have held residencies in local bars, clubs and guest slots in some of the biggest clubs in Glasgow.
They have also successfully organised, marketed and promoted their own club night under the “HardDance Takeover” brand. These nights ran for a number of years leading to collaborations with some great DJs and live acts including an evolution night which combined Scottish Hip Hop, House and Techno bringing a totally unique night to the shores of Loch Lomond to a crowd of over 200 party goers.
Over 10 years ago they launched a Mobile DJ company playing for various crowds and events such as corporate gigs, birthday parties, engagements, retirements, christenings and weddings gathering a large customer base and a whole new network of DJs and venues, receiving glowing reviews from customers, businesses and venues and keeping the crowds happy time after time.
The guys are currently hosting a weekly slot on Sunrise FM and a 4 weekly slot on Groove City Radio as well as guesting at “Houselife” events, continuing the Mobile parties and still collecting vinyl…..
