Tony J began his DJ career in London clubs and radio around 1989, quickly becoming a familiar name on the local music scene. He spent approximately five years on air, hosting shows on CLR (Central London Radio) and later Touchdown FM, where his unique style and passion for music earned him a loyal following.
As a club DJ, Tony J has performed at some of London’s most iconic venues, including Camden Palace, Limelight, Hippodrome, Equinox, Turnmills, Zenith, Buzz Bar, Legends, Cairo Jacks, and Central Square in Shropshire. While every decade has produced incredible music, Tony’s favorite period remains the rave years of 1989–1993, a time that defined his musical journey. On the radio, he enjoys blending classic and contemporary house music, mixing timeless tracks from earlier eras with fresh beats for a dynamic listening experience.
Tony’s passion for radio and DJing was first sparked by legendary soul stations such as JFM, LWR, Horizon, and Solar. His musical tastes evolved during the early acid house movement, influenced by pioneering stations like Centreforce and Sunrise. That era of innovative, life-changing music continues to inspire his sets today.
